No delay in upcoming real estate projects on mill land: Bombay ...

Textile major Bombay Dyeing said its upcoming real estate projects on mill land will not face any delay as they are designed keeping in mind the need to vacate a certain portion of the said land.

?The issue was never about handing over, but of when we are entitled to hand over as per the law. ?We have already considered the handing over in our planning and designing of both our properties and therefore does not affect or delay any of our commitments to our esteemed customers on our recently-launched residential towers and retail high street,? Bombay Dyeing Managing Director Jeh Wadia said in a statement here this evening.

The apex court? had dismissed of a special leave petition by Bombay Dyeing against the HC order asking the the company to hand over the land to BMC and Mhada. Moneycontrol.com

The statement follows the Supreme Court ordering the company to hand over one-third of the mill land at Naigaum and Lower Parel to the Brihanmumbai Corporation (BMC) and Mhada, respectively, for development of open spaces, transit camp accommodation and houses for mill workers.

The apex court? had dismissed of a special leave petition by Bombay Dyeing against the HC order asking the the company to hand over the land to BMC and Mhada. Earlier in May, the high court had stayed the stop-work notice issued by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) to Bombay Dyeing for redeveloping the mill land in central Mumbai.

The company had approached the HC after BMC issued a stop-work notice on March 26, 2010. The notice was issued following a direction from the monitoring committee that oversees redevelopment of mill lands in the metropolis.

The panel, headed by justice (Retd) B V Chavan, had directed the civic body to issue stop-work notice on the grounds that Bombay Dyeing had failed to hand over land to Mhada and BMC for low-cost housing and recreational grounds, respectively.

Bombay Dyeing?s projects coming up on its erstwhile mill plots are the Spring Mills in Dadar-Naigaon and another in Lower Parel. The plans for the mills include a 38-storey residential-cum-commercial and retail, IT spaces and a hotel.

Ryan selection shrouded in secrecy

(AP) ? After Mitt Romney decided on a running mate, Paul Ryan's carefully planned transition from congressman to vice presidential candidate began ? in deep secret.

Almost a week ago, Ryan snuck through Chicago's O'Hare airport in a baseball cap and sunglasses and flew to New England. A Romney adviser's 19-year-old son picked up Ryan and drove him to a private meeting in his parents' dining room where the deal was sealed.

By Friday afternoon, Ryan was cutting through the Wisconsin woods behind his home to evade a reporter on the street out front, and heading to North Carolina. By night, he was eating Applebee's takeout at a nondescript chain hotel in that state and preparing for his big debut speech.

All this, so that no one would see it coming: A Saturday morning unveiling of the GOP ticket in Norfolk outside the USS Wisconsin, the battleship named for Ryan's home state, as the sweeping theme from the movie "Air Force One" played.

This was the culmination of a methodical, highly secretive process that involved 10 top Romney staffers, a volunteer team of attorneys, a secret secure room in Romney's Boston headquarters, and reams of paper on a long and then a short list of potential candidates.

In the end, the decision about who to pick rested only with Romney: A candidate who is known for marshaling opinions from across the spectrum, gathering and analyzing all the available data, and then evaluating the risks ? before making the final call alone.

The people around Romney told him it was risky.

As the Republican presidential candidate prepared to pick his running mate, he kept in constant touch with his senior advisers. They met in small groups and alone with the candidate. He talked to a number of other friends and confidantes, soliciting advice and opinions.

Aides knew the decision was fraught, and they told Romney so. It was a choice, they knew, that would fundamentally re-shape the race for the presidency. It would acknowledge Romney needed to offer voters more than just being the guy who wasn't Democratic President Barack Obama. And it would tie Romney to the architect of a highly controversial budget proposal that Democrats are eager to use to badger the Republican.

Romney, himself, decided the chance was worth taking.

"This was Mitt's decision," said Beth Myers, the senior adviser who led the vice presidential search. "He kept his own counsel."

In picking Ryan, Romney bypassed Republicans including Ohio Sen. Rob Portman, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie.

Officials said he had called all five to notify them of his decision. Pawlenty received a call Monday evening, the day after Ryan accepted, while the other four were all notified on Friday, just hours before the announcement.

Romney's campaign kept the details of the search carefully concealed until late Saturday.

Myers outlined the process for reporters who gathered in a cavernous airport hanger at Dulles International Airport in Virginia, saying she consulted with former Vice President Dick Cheney about the extensive, highly sensitive process.

A long list drawn up in April of possible contenders was narrowed by May. Romney called the people on it to ask if they were willing to undergo the intensive vetting process.

All said yes. Everyone who was asked submitted detailed questionnaires and paperwork, including several years' worth of tax returns.

The volunteer attorneys sequestered in a secured room pored over the documents. They dug through public records. Each night, they locked the paper in safes in the Boston headquarters.

Some questions came up. So in June, during an event for donors in Park City, Utah, Myers met with several candidates to clarify a few more details with each. On July 2, she met with Romney at his home in Wolfeboro, N.H., where they went through folders on each person under consideration.

On Wednesday, August 1, the day after returning from a weeklong trip abroad, Romney met one last time with the nine advisers he had consulted throughout the process, including longtime friend Bob White, campaign manager Matt Rhoades and years-long confidante Ron Kaufman.

It was one final gut check.

That afternoon, Romney called Ryan from Myers' office. Would he come to Boston to meet with Romney?

Yes, came the reply.

So Ryan ? asked to dress casually ? arrived at O'Hare airport in Chicago in jeans, a baseball cap and a pair of sunglasses. No one recognized him. He flew to Hartford, Conn., where Beth Myers' 19-year-old son, Curt Myers, picked him up in a rented SUV and drove him to the Myers family home in Brookline, Mass. Meanwhile, a Secret Service detail drove Romney from his lake house in New Hampshire, and the two men met alone for over an hour in her dining room.

"We talked about the campaign and how it would be run and talked about how we'd work together if we got the White House; what the relationship would be, how we'd interact, and be involved in important decisions," Romney said of the meeting as his campaign plane flew from Virginia to North Carolina late Saturday.

Romney and his team had been looking for someone who could play a partnership role in the White House.

Aides involved in the selection had read Robert Caro's biography of Lyndon Johnson as a cautionary tale ? as John F. Kennedy's vice president, Johnson was often cut out of major policy decisions.

When they walked out of the dining room, Ryan had agreed to be on the ticket.

"By the time we met in person I kinda knew it was gonna happen," Ryan said late Saturday. "And, ah, I was very humbled. It was the biggest honor I've ever been given in my life."

While Ryan was still at Myers' home, news broke of the shooting that killed 6 at a Sikh temple in Wisconsin.

Ryan issued a statement that day saying he was "deeply saddened" by the tragedy.

Romney advisers had hoped to announce Ryan's selection Friday in New Hampshire, but the funeral for the temple shooting victims was schedule for that morning.

Plans were scrapped. A new location was selected. The announcement would come Saturday morning at the USS Wisconsin, the battleship named for Ryan's home state.

Ryan attended the service for the shooting victims Friday in Wisconsin, as did Tagg Romney, the eldest son of the GOP candidate. Ryan, a generation younger than Mitt Romney, is 42 ? the same age as Tagg.

Then the ruse began.

Ryan's family ? his wife, Janna, and three children ? left the funeral and were taken to the airport separately. Ryan, with a staffer, drove to his house. He walked in the front door and then out the back, crossing his backyard and walking through the woods that separate the house where he now lives from the home where he grew up.

"I know those woods like the back of my hand, so it wasn't too hard to walk through 'em," Ryan said, adding that he passed by a tree fort he had built as a kid.

His chief of staff had driven around the block and picked him up in the other house's driveway.

Ryan and his family flew from Wisconsin to Elizabeth City, N.C., where Myers' son again picked him up and drove him, this time to a Fairfield Inn. Ryan made some last-minute preparations to his speech, and met with Myers, strategist Ed Gillespie and aide Dan Senor. The campaign announced in a press release that the announcement would come Saturday morning.

Beth Myers turned off her cell phone. The Ryan family went to sleep.

The next morning, Ryan was officially on the GOP ticket.

Recruitment Teaching: The Cost and Time-Efficient Strategy To ...

Oftentimes, there's a quick turn-over of faculty members; this is partly because new teachers are inclined to seek greener pastures and expand their horizons, and also there are other career or personal dynamics that come into play. And every year, schools across Great Britain welcome a new batch of teaching greenhorns to fill the vacated spots of former teaching staff members. Four months before the end of a school year, learning institutions put up "wanted ads" in newspapers and job search portals so there will be new replacements right away.

For a lot of school administrators, hiring can be a complete pain; not because of the quality of the applicants but more due to the bulk of work, the entire process of hiring adds to their administrative duties. There are times the impressive competency of the numerous applicants is just hard to overlook that several days are devoted to testing and interviewing all of the candidates because it's worth allotting time and knowing what these applicants can contribute to the school. At the end of the day however, despite the great qualities of all the applicants, only two are hired.

However, with the stringent and high standards of teaching agencies in the UK, more and more schools are choosing a cost-effective and time-efficient strategy of filling their teaching positions. Recruitment teaching is an incredibly reliable system that has been working really well for a lot of learning institutions, and not only to accommodate the need for teachers for the new school year but also to supply substitute instructors for their faculty members who need to go on leave. Instead of paying for a spot in the daily newspaper or the services of an online job search portal, schools are opting to get the services of reputable teaching agencies that already have a line-up of strong candidates for the open teaching positions.

Recruitment teaching is actually very advantageous because it makes simple an otherwise complicated process. Schools place great faith in the agencies' impeccable system of sifting through potential teachers for their faculties, so the lengthy testing-interview process can actually be reduced to just a couple of steps which is less stressful for the school's board of administrators and evaluators.

It's important to note as well that teaching agencies are not only for supplying the demand for teaching personnel, they also provide skill-enhancing programs to the teachers in their roster, such as training for interviews and seminars (which by the way, are great to add in a resume); that's why it's no surprise that the number of schools relying on the services of teaching agencies continues to grow, and recruitment teaching has become such a popular strategy for filling teaching posts.

Better future provided by devoted educators from trusted teaching agencies. http://www.sanzateaching.com

Foods for Your Moods - Health Guidance

When you're feeling "off" emotionally or physically ? cranky and irritable, tired, depressed, angry, or stressed out ? which "comfort foods" do you eat? If you tend to devour an entire bag of chips, or dive into that extra-large tub of Double Fudge Ripple Rocky Road ice cream, or skip food entirely and go for a stiff drink, you're probably perpetuating the very moods, lack of energy, or depression that you're trying to "treat."

In a very real sense, we are what we eat. An enormous body of scientific research is indicating that our American diet of processed foods, sugars, "bad" fats, and refined carbohydrates is not only bad for our physical health, it's bad for our mental and emotional health. According to these studies, adolescents with largely fast food and junk food diets are 79% more likely to suffer from depression. Adults who ate a diet high in trans fats were 42% more likely to be depressed.

So one of the best things we can do to treat "bad moods" is to eat the kind of balanced, nutritious diet that prevents them in the first place. That is, make sure your diet includes lots of brain-healthy foods such as lean meats, seafood, leafy greens, and whole grains. Skip the processed foods and the sugars, and don't be afraid of fats, especially the "good" fats, which actually help to protect the brain against mood disorders.

This all sounds good, but I'm cranky right now! What do I eat?

Good question. Our world is stressful, and no matter how balanced our normal diet is, every so often we're going to be hit with bouts of tiredness at inappropriate times (like when you have a report that you have to finish by the end of the work day), or periods of irritability and crankiness (which we try not to take out on co-workers and loved ones). What can we eat at such times to counteract the out-of-balance conditions our bodies and brains have gotten themselves into, and bring us back to a happier, more balanced state of mind and body?

The following suggestions have been gathered from nutritionists, food experts, doctors, and psychologists, and may be of help to you when your moods get you down:

? Eat more often. First, if you've found that your moods or energy levels "swing" a lot during the day, consider eating more often (every 4 to 5 hours), to provide both your body and your brain with the fuel they need to function properly.

? When you snack, eat "combination" snacks. That is, instead of just eating a sugary snack (which your body craves when its blood sugar gets low), eat a combination of proteins, carbohydrates, fats, and sugars. For example, snack on nuts combined with fruits. Carbohydrates provide quick energy, but also tend to cause a "sugar crash" soon after eating them, which leaves you even more tired than before. Combining carbohydrates like vegetables or fruits with meats or nuts and some source of fats slows the digestive process, and keeps your blood sugar levels higher for longer.

? For tiredness, have a spinach salad. When you're tired and can't concentrate, skip the "quick cures" like coffee and head for the salad bar. Spinach contains high levels of folic acid, which boosts your homocysteine levels, and improves the flow of blood. So do other leafy green vegetables and foods such as cereals, potatoes, beans, peas, and mushrooms.

? Anxious or stressed out? Eat salmon. If you find yourself feeling worry or anxiety, it could mean that your body is low in the omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA. Salmon ? whether at a sit-down restaurant or in the form of a salmon burger ? can boost your levels of these nutrients quickly.

? Feeling angry? Have a cup of green tea. Green tea is an excellent source of theanine, which improves concentration and focus while calming you down. Its low amounts of caffeine also won't increase the feelings of anger the way that coffee does.

? Eat dark chocolate to fight depression and anxiety. Even though eating chocolate sounds counter-intuitive when thinking about "eating for health," dark chocolate (not milk chocolate or white chocolate) contains serotonin (a natural antidepressant) and high amounts of flavonoids, which are powerful antioxidants. Dark chocolate also reduces levels of the hormones that make you feel stressed out and anxious.

? Sad? Have an avocado. Avocados are high in antioxidants, vitamin C, and healthy fats that act as powerful "brain food," and can quickly lift your spirits.

? Depressed? Have a banana. Bananas are another good source of the natural antidepressant serotonin, as well as vitamin C, beta-carotene, and antioxidants. They also contain the amino acid tryptophan, which can reduce symptoms of anxiety or insomnia.

? For more energy and happiness, eat sunflower seeds. An excellent source of protein and nutrients such as selenium, vitamin E, and magnesium, sunflower seeds are also tasty and convenient. It's easy to add them to salads, or to just keep a bag of them in your desk handy for snacking.

? Just feeling blue? Have a few Brazil nuts. These nuts contain high amounts of the antioxidant selenium, which positively affects your moods. While you should eat them in moderation because they're high in unsaturated fats and calories, small portions can quickly counteract feelings of sadness, irritability, anxiety, or fatigue.
